What is an FAGD Dentist – If your dentist is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), they are the best of the best in the field. Only the top 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. You can rest assured that your dentist cares about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. Your dentist practices these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year — not every dentist does this. To become an FAGD dentist, a dentist must: be practicing Dentistry for over 5 years, complete over 500 credit hours of continuing education, earn 350 of those 500 credits in live courses and live patients, pass an exam equal in difficulty to a board certification exam.
